Physical Therapy for Golf, Tennis & Pickleball
One-on-one care for golfers and racquet-sport players, at home, at your club, or on the course or court. We look at how you move through your swing or on the court, treat what’s holding you back, and build a plan around getting back to your game.

Sports physical therapy
Care Built Around Your Sport
Golf, tennis, and pickleball each put different demands on the body. Your care starts with how you actually play, not just where it hurts.
We Watch You Move
Your swing, stroke, or footwork is part of the evaluation, on the course or court when possible.
The Whole Chain, Not Just the Sore Spot
We look at how your hips, back, and shoulders work together through the swing or stroke, then build the plan around that.
Care Where You Play
Visits happen at home, at your club, or on the course, range, or court, so there’s no clinic to fit in around tee times and matches.
What we treat
Common Problems We Treat
You don’t need a diagnosis before contacting us. Your evaluation helps determine what’s contributing and what to work on first.

- Hip or mid-back stiffness that limits your turn
- Golfer’s elbow and wrist pain
- Shoulder pain at the top of the swing
Tennis
- Tennis elbow
- Shoulder pain with serves and overheads
- Knee, ankle, and calf strains from quick changes of direction
- Low back pain from rotation
Pickleball
- Knee and ankle pain from quick stops and starts
- Calf and Achilles strains
- Elbow and shoulder pain from paddle work
- Getting your balance and footwork back after an injury or fall
Back to Play After Surgery
- After a knee or hip replacement
- After rotator cuff or other shoulder surgery
- After back surgery, following your surgeon’s guidance
- See post-surgical rehabilitation

Who you’ll work with
Therapists Who Know These Sports
Our therapists understand what golf, tennis, and pickleball ask of the body, from the rotation in a swing to the quick stops and starts on a court. Founder Matt Elliott, PT, DPT, is one example: he set two high school tennis records as a player, went on to coach high school tennis for three years, and is a golfer himself.
Your first visit is a 60-minute, one-on-one evaluation and treatment session with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
- Your history and goals. What hurts, when it started, how it affects your game, how often you play, and what you want to get back to.
- A movement exam. Hip, back, and shoulder mobility, strength, balance, and how they connect.
- Your sport. We watch your swing, stroke, or footwork, at the course or court when possible.
- A plan before we leave. When appropriate, treatment starts the same visit, along with what to do, and avoid, before your next round or match.
Treatment
Treatment & Return to Play
Your plan is chosen from your evaluation and your goals, and it changes as you respond.
Hands-On Treatment
Joint and soft-tissue work for the hips, spine, shoulders, and elbows.
Dry Needling & Cupping
Included when clinically appropriate, with no separate fee. Cupping is available in all three regions; dry needling in South Bend & Michiana and Southwest Michigan.
Mobility for Rotation
Hip, mid-back, and shoulder mobility that carries into your turn, swing, or serve.
Strength & Power
Legs, trunk, and shoulders trained for speed, control, and durability.
Footwork & Balance
Split steps, side-to-side movement, and stopping and changing direction safely.
A Return-to-Play Plan
Clear steps for when to practice, play, and compete again, instead of guesswork.
Your therapist doesn’t replace your golf or tennis pro. The focus is the physical side: the pain, mobility, strength, and control that get in the way of what your pro is teaching.
Where visits happen
On the Course, at the Court, or at Home
Visits can happen at home, at your club, or on the course, range, or court, wherever it makes sense to see how you move.
Your plan is built around your playing schedule, including what to work on between rounds or matches and how to warm up before you play.

Questions
Questions About Golf, Tennis & Pickleball PT
Can you come to my club, the course, or the court?
Yes. Visits can take place at home, at your club, or on the course, range, or court, in South Bend & Michiana, Southwest Michigan, and Naples & Southwest Florida.
Do I have to stop playing while I recover?
Not always. Depending on the problem, you may be able to keep playing with changes to how often or how hard you play. Your therapist will tell you what’s safe and what to avoid.
Does this replace lessons with my pro?
No. Golf, tennis, and pickleball pros teach skill and technique. Physical therapy addresses the pain, mobility, strength, and control that affect how well you can do what they teach.
Is dry needling or cupping included?
Yes, when clinically appropriate, with no separate fee. Cupping is available in all three regions. Dry needling is currently offered in South Bend & Michiana and Southwest Michigan.
Do I need to be injured to come in?
No. Some people come in with pain or an injury; others want to work on stiffness, mobility, or strength that affects their game.
How long are visits?
Your first visit is a full 60 minutes, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. After that, visits run 45, 60, or 90 minutes, depending on your plan, goals, and availability.
Do I need a referral or prescription?
In many cases, you can begin physical therapy without a physician referral. However, depending on your medical history, surgery, diagnosis, insurance situation, or state-specific requirements, we may recommend or require coordination with your physician.
Do you bill insurance or Medicare?
ECPT is a private-pay practice and does not bill Medicare. For patients with commercial insurance, we provide an itemized invoice (often called a superbill) to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your plan.
Where do visits take place?
Your therapist comes to you—your home, office, private gym, senior living residence, or another appropriate private space—in South Bend & Michiana, Southwest Michigan, and Naples & Southwest Florida.
